My Story
Lucky was surrendered 8/17/17 after a visit from the police regarding his barking. I would make noise too if I were tied up 24/7. Lucky was neutered 8/22/17. He is heartworm negative and fully vaccinated. Lucky is a pup in an adult size body. He is a bit mouthy (anything near his mouth shall go in…just like a toddler). We are trying to work on that behavior but we few volunteers and even less staff he doesn't get the consistent training that he needs.
Lucky has had many doggie friends during his stay. He seems to be friends with everyone he meets. He just needs a leader and he will make a fabulous companion.

More About This Rescue
Peach State Sheltie Rescue, Inc. is based in Woodstock, Georgia and licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. We are committed to saving abused, abandoned, neglected and unwanted Shetland Sheepdogs. We do not operate a facility open to the public. Our rescued shelties are cared for in private foster homes as they await adoption into their forever homes.
Peach State Sheltie Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit organization composed solely of volunteers. We are dedicated to saving Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) who have been surrendered by their owners, neglected, abused, or are strays.
Shelties coming in to our program are immediately taken to a veterinarian to be treated for any obvious medical condition, tested for heartworms and intestinal parasites, brought current on all shots (including rabies), started on heartworm and flea preventative, spayed or neutered. All of our shelties are placed in a Foster Home until a suitable permanent home can be found. "Rescued" Shelties come in all ages, colors, sizes and personalities.
